What happened on X Men today??

I'll go ahead and insert a

*** SPOILER WARNING ***

just to be on the safe side...

Wolverine tosses his fight with Sabretooth after receiving a telepathic message from the Prof detailing Magneto's plan. Magneto then throws the Prof into a containment unit. While Wolvie heads back to the mansion, Magneto reveals his mutant enhancement device, powered by a gem of Cyttorak. To show how it evolves mutants to their highest potential, X-Ev Sabretooth goes in, but comes out bearing a more than striking resemblance to his movie counterpart, complete with growl.

Wolverine gets back to the mansion and rounds up the rescue squad, consisting of Nightcrawler, Shadowcat, Spyke, Toad, and Mystique. They all take off for Asteroid M in the XM-Velocity, an all plastic and cermaic helicraft.

Magneto convinces Cyke that if he goes into the chamber, he'll no longer need the ruby glasses, and Alex will no longer have problems releasing the cosmic energy. They head in, but Magneto releases Prof from the unit so he can see Scott switch sides. Prof tries to warn Cyke that the device also mindwipes them, but it's too late. Cyke and Alex are evolved into buffer, white-haired versions of themselves.

The Wolvie rescue squad finally shows up, and when Magneto can't make them crash land, he has Cyclops & the newly named Havok blow them out of the sky. The XM-Velocity crashes into the hangar, and massive battles ensue. In the midst of it all, Magneto and Mystique battle, ending up with both of them in the evolution chamber.

The asteroid starts falling apart and losing altitude. Everyone makes it to the X-Jet except for Cyclops, Havok, Magneto and Mystique. Mystique emerges from the chamber, amazingly enough, looking more like her movie counterpart. The asteroid lurches before the Summers brothers can get on the jet and they start falling to the ground. They use their powers to slow their descent and land safely. The X-Jet comes down to pick them up, but large chunks of Asteroid M start raining down. Scott and Alex pour the power on to destroy the largest piece of the Asteroid before it destroys everyone. Right before it explodes, two of the metal spheres rocket out, presumably one with Magneto, one with Mystique.

Scott and Alex managed to burn out the last bit of Magneto's transformation, so they revert to their "normal" forms, and Scott still needs the ruby quartz. Avalanche mentions that he saw the spheres escape, so Mystique is still out there. Scott apologizes to the Prof for trying to find an easy way to control his powers, and the Prof assures him that it was just a misinformed decision, and that, in time, he might regain control over his optic blasts.

END SEASON ONE

That's the gist of it. Nightcrawler sarcastically calls Mystique "mother" at one point. Not much Kurt time, but he's had a pretty decent amount of exposure this season anyway.

Dont forget the great part where Kurt Bamfs out of Blob's way, quotes a bit of the law of inertia, kick Blob in the back of the head, and takes him out by driving him, head first, into a big metal something. *BRONG!!!!!*

Oh yeah...I forgot about that. I guess I didn't include it because it wasn't real integral to the plot. :P That, and the fact that I woke up 10 minutes before the ep started and everything I wrote was from memory. It's a good thing I did too...we had a power outage out here (luckily during a commercial break) that wiped my VCR's memory. *sigh*

Side note - I'm making a tape of all the Season 1 eps (the first 6 will be the ones off the released tapes if I can get it to work right) for a friend that is WB deprived. If anybody else wants one, let me know. And if anyone has a copy of "Hush" (Buffy Season 4, ep 10) and "Parting Gifts" (Angel Season 1, ep 10), or for that matter, "Doppelgangland" (Buffy Season 3...not sure which ep...evil vampy Willow...*drool*)...where was I? Oh yeah..if anyone happens to have those, and would like to tape trade, let me know.

I thought that there were THREE people left on asteroid M. Mystique, Sabertooth, and Magneto. None of those three were on the X-Jet. So that's two spheres and three people. Am I wrong?
